Setup
Linksys BEFSR41's setup is automatic by default. It's WAN port is automatically set to "Obtain an IP Automatically". This means that if you connect the router to a dsl model which automatically gives public IP address, it will serve its purpose right away. I some cases, the user needs to configure it to what ever internet access setup(static IP, or PPPoe).
Default Settings:
Linksys BEFSR41 Default IP Address ip address: 192.168.0.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Linksys BEFSR41 Default Access User: blank password: admin
Configuration
- To access the router you need to setup the computer's network settings to "Obtain an IP Address Automatically". The router will automatically issue ip address range from 192.168.100 to 150.
- Connect the computers Network cable to any of the 4 (four) ports labeled in the router.
- Connect the DSL's network cable to the Internet Port of the router.
- Open the internet explorer to access the router's configuration site.
